Kitchen Remodeling in Aventura

Kitchen craft from Williams Island to Aventura Lakes.

Most Aventura kitchens were drawn when nobody expected to look at them: galley layouts tucked behind a wall in Mystic Pointe and Turnberry-era units, builder-grade runs in late-nineties Aventura Lakes houses, formal but dated rooms in Country Club Estates. Today's owners want the opposite — the wall gone, an island with seating, stone with some movement to it, and lighting that was designed rather than inherited. On Williams Island and at Porto Vita, we regularly take a three-decade-old kitchen down to the slab and give the residence the open plan it should have had all along.

Kitchen remodels here are permitted work — the City of Aventura Community Development Department lists kitchen remodeling among the projects that require a permit, and its Building Division inspects the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical behind your new cabinetry. In a tower, plumbing and vent routes are governed by riser stacks and concrete slabs, so relocating a sink or moving appliances takes planning, not optimism. Most buildings are all-electric, which is why induction has quietly conquered Aventura's high-rise kitchens. Associations add their own layer: insurance certificates, elevator bookings for slab-sized deliveries, and set working hours.

The kitchens other contractors photograph are the kind PGX actually delivers: custom cabinetry measured to the millimeter, stone templated after the boxes are set, appliances that sit flush because someone checked the specs twice. You get a fixed written scope before demolition and a supervisor on site every day — not a subcontractor with your key. After 20-plus years and more than 150 remodels and additions across South Florida, we know exactly which details fail first, and we build those parts twice as carefully.

What your kitchen project includes.

From demolition to the last cabinet pull — designed, permitted, and installed by one team that treats your building's rules as part of the drawing set.

01

Cabinetry built to elevation drawings

Fully custom boxes and fronts built to elevation drawings, with interiors organized for how you actually cook — or for how your chef does.

02

Quartzite and marble, templated on site

Quartzite, marble, and porcelain slabs padded, protected, and ridden up the service elevator without drama, then templated and seamed properly on site.

03

Galley walls opened where structure allows

Galley walls opened where the structure allows, verified against building drawings first, so the island you want never meets a column you did not know about.

04

Appliance and plumbing relocation

Sinks, dishwashers, and wine storage moved within what riser stacks and slab depths permit — engineered honestly instead of promised casually.

05

Layered light on new circuits

Layered task, ambient, and accent lighting on new circuits and dimmers, replacing the single sad ceiling fixture your kitchen came with.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Can I open my condo kitchen to the living room?
Often, yes — many kitchen walls in Aventura towers are non-structural partitions. But we verify against the building's drawings, and bring in an engineer when anything is ambiguous, before a design gets drawn around an assumption. Your association will want plans and formal sign-off, and the city permits the demolition plus any electrical and plumbing changes that follow. When the wall can come down, the difference in light alone usually settles the question.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel in Aventura?
Yes — kitchen remodels are specifically on the City of Aventura's list of work requiring a permit, along with the flooring, electrical, and plumbing changes that come with them. The Building Division reviews the plans and inspects the rough work before it disappears behind cabinetry. Unpermitted kitchens surface at resale and in association records, so doing it right the first time is cheaper than doing it twice. We handle the full submission and inspection schedule.
Can I have a gas range in an Aventura high-rise?
Usually not — most towers in the city are all-electric, and adding gas service to a high-rise unit is rarely feasible. The good news is that high-end induction has closed the gap: faster than gas, easier to clean, and better suited to a sealed, air-conditioned residence anyway. In Aventura Lakes and Country Club Estates houses, gas is a real option, permitted and installed properly if the range you love demands a flame.
How long will my kitchen be out of commission?
The honest answer: custom cabinetry lead time drives the calendar more than construction does. We order cabinets, appliances, and stone before demolition day, so the kitchen is torn out for the build, not for the wait. Add association approval and city permitting to the front end and a typical high-end kitchen runs a few months door to door — a schedule we put in writing, alongside the scope, before we start.
What does a high-end kitchen remodel cost in Aventura?
The range is wide because the drivers are choices, not mysteries: fully custom cabinetry versus semi-custom, exotic stone versus quartz, and the appliance package — which can quietly rival the cabinetry budget. We build at the level Aventura's better residences expect, so we are rarely the lowest bid, and we are fine with that. What you get instead is a fixed written number that survives contact with construction.
