Bathroom Remodeling in Aventura

Waterproofing matters more twelve floors up.

The bathrooms in Aventura's eighties and nineties towers — Mystic Pointe, the early Turnberry buildings, the Williams Island originals — were generous for their day and dated for ours: cultured marble, gold-toned shower frames, soffits concealing who knows what. Owners now rebuild them as true primary suites, with curbless showers, freestanding tubs, book-matched stone, and warm layered light. Over in Aventura Lakes and Country Club Estates, the ambition is the same but the square footage is friendlier, and the plumbing does not run through a neighbor's ceiling. Either way, this is the room where Aventura owners spend most seriously per square foot.

Bathroom remodeling is permitted work in this city — the City of Aventura Building Division reviews the plumbing, electrical, and structural details, then inspects the stages you cannot see afterward, which are precisely the stages that matter. In a high-rise, your shower pan sits over someone's ceiling, so we flood-test pans, document the membrane, and photograph everything before tile goes down. Drain relocations are governed by the slab and the building's riser stacks, meaning we confirm feasibility on paper before you fall in love with a floor plan. Associations typically want plans, insurance certificates, and scheduled work hours as well.

PGX treats the waterproofing as the actual product and the marble as the reward. Fixed written scope, daily supervision, licensed trades, and the sequence done in order: membrane, flood test, inspection, then stone. We protect corridors and elevators on the way in, keep dust behind sealed barriers, and leave your property manager with nothing to write us about. Twenty-plus years in South Florida have taught us exactly which shortcuts leak, and we decline all of them.

What's included

What a bathroom rebuild includes.

Complete demolition-to-detail scopes for primary baths, guest baths, and powder rooms — engineered around your slab, your stacks, and your association's paperwork.

01

Eighties bathrooms opened into suites

Reworked layouts that turn compartmentalized eighties bathrooms into open suites with double vanities, real storage, and a shower you do not have to negotiate with.

02

Curbless showers where slab allows

Curbless entries where slab depth allows, linear drains, full-height glass, and niches planned on the drawings instead of improvised on demo day.

03

Freestanding tubs, loads checked

Sculptural tubs set on proper blocking, floor-mounted fillers roughed in precisely, and loads checked against the structure before the stone arrives.

04

Stone over flood-tested waterproofing

Book-matched slabs, large-format porcelain, and mosaics installed flat and aligned — over waterproofing that is flood-tested and inspected, never assumed.

05

Fixtures and lighting

Quality valves and trim, ventilation that actually exhausts, dimmable layered lighting, and mirrors lit for faces rather than for drama.

FAQ

Straight answers.

How do you protect the unit below mine during a bathroom remodel?
Wet rooms are where high-rise remodels go wrong, so this is where our process is strictest: water shut-off coordination with building engineering, sealed containment during demolition, new waterproofing membranes flood-tested and photographed before tile, and city inspections passed at each hidden stage. We carry the insurance your association requires and document everything, because the best conversation with a downstairs neighbor is the one that never needs to happen.
Do bathroom remodels need permits in Aventura?
Yes — bathroom remodeling appears explicitly on the City of Aventura's permit-required list, and for good reason: the important work is plumbing, electrical, and waterproofing that gets buried behind tile. The Building Division inspects those stages before they are covered. In a condo, add your association's approval package to the sequence. We manage both tracks in parallel so the approvals overlap instead of stacking end to end.
Can I move my toilet or shower in a condo bathroom?
Sometimes — it depends on how far the fixture must travel from the building's riser stacks and what the slab allows. Some Aventura buildings offer more flexibility than others, and the answer lives in the structural drawings, not in a hunch. We investigate before design begins, so the layout you approve is one that can actually be built. When relocation is off the table, a well-planned layout usually recovers what the plumbing will not give.
How long does a bathroom remodel take in Aventura?
Association review and city permitting occupy the front weeks; construction itself depends on scope, and stone or glass lead times can add more. A full primary-suite rebuild typically spans a few months from approval to final inspection. We compress what can be compressed — materials ordered early, trades scheduled tightly, inspections booked ahead — and we give you the schedule in writing rather than as a feeling.
What does a primary bathroom remodel cost here?
Stone, glass, and fixtures set the ceiling; layout changes and plumbing relocation set the floor. A high-end primary bath in an Aventura tower or Country Club Estates home is a serious investment, and we would rather show you a fixed written number after a walk-through than recite a range that means nothing. What we can promise up front: the price includes the waterproofing done right, which is the part you should refuse to economize on.
