Bathroom Remodeling · Key Biscayne, FL
Bathrooms that take humidity seriously.
PGX remodels primary suites and guest baths across Key Biscayne — frameless glass, stone, freestanding tubs — with permits through the Village, association sign-offs in the towers, and waterproofing we would stake our license on.
Bathroom Remodeling in Key Biscayne
Waterproofing matters more at sea level.
The original Key Biscayne house shipped with one bathroom, and it was not generous. Seventy years later, owners in the village core and Biscayne Key Estates are carving real primary suites out of bedroom wings, while waterfront homes on Mashta Island and Harbor Point get the full treatment: freestanding tubs, book-matched stone, showers with more plumbing than the original house had in total. In the condo towers, baths from the 70s and 80s are being gutted to the slab, where the tile is usually the youngest thing in the wall.
Bathroom work is plumbing and electrical work, which means permits and inspections through the Village of Key Biscayne's Building, Zoning and Planning Department — no exceptions for small footprints. In the towers, tying into a building riser takes association approval and a scheduled water shut-down for your stack, which we coordinate with management rather than spring on your neighbors. Florida's post-Surfside milestone-inspection era has made island boards rightly attentive to what happens inside walls and slabs, so our submittals arrive complete: drawings, insurance, licensing, and a schedule the building can hold us to.
This is the trade where PGX is least willing to negotiate. Every shower gets a full waterproofing assembly — pan, membrane, flood test — because on an island with this much humidity, a shortcut behind the tile becomes a demolition order in five years. A written scope fixes the fixtures, stone, and glass before we open a wall; a supervisor checks the site daily; and the same licensed team (Lic. CGC1539072) answers for the job from first sketch to warranty call. It is a small room. That is exactly why the details are the whole project.

What's included
What we build behind the glass.
Five ways Key Biscayne owners rebuild their baths — each one permitted, flood-tested, and finished under daily supervision.
Spare rooms into primary suites
Turning a spare bedroom or an oversized closet into a true primary bath, with the structural and plumbing work fully permitted.
Showers that hold their water
Curbless entries, linear drains, and heavy glass set on properly sloped, flood-tested pans — the details that keep water where it belongs.
Freestanding tubs, floor-mounted fillers
Sculptural tubs set against stone or glass, with floor-mounted fillers roughed in precisely, so nobody guesses where the valve lands.
Tile set over full waterproofing
Porcelain, marble, and mosaic installed over full waterproofing assemblies, with layouts planned slab to ceiling before the first cut.
Baths built around riser shut-downs
Gut renovations in the island's towers, coordinated with association approvals, riser shut-downs, and elevator schedules so neighbors barely notice.
